Each computer in the internet network is connected to each other. As an identifier, each computer uses an IP address (also called an IP address). This address indicates the location of the server where your website files are stored. So, technically, your website can still be accessed using an IP address.

Because its main function is identification between devices, website addresses using a series of numbers tend to be ineffective and difficult for users to remember. 

For this reason, a website naming system was created using a domain name. Domain names consist of second-level and top-level (TLD) domains. 

The second-level domain is the word or phrase of your choice, while the top-level domain is the extension. 

For example, for google.com, the second-level domain is google, 

and .com is the TLD. 

You need to type the domain name in the address bar to access the website. 

In order to own a domain name, you must register it with a domain name registrar, which is the company or organization that sells and manages domain name registrations. 

This domain registrar is registered with an organization called ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) and must report back to that organization every time a user purchases a domain.

 What is Hosting? 

Hosting can be described as the land on which you build a house. 

Website is your home. If you only subscribe to a domain name, you seem to have an address without a home. 

Of course you can share the address with anyone. 

However, visitors who access it will see nothing because there is no house there. 

Web hosting services allow you to publish your website to the Internet. 

Web hosting providers store your website data on their servers, then send that information to visitors' web browsers when they type your domain name into the address bar.

In fact, domains and hosting are two very different things.
